| What's better of the two the old style mount arms 18 where its open in the middle or the newer mount where its a soild rail. I know they don't sell the older ones but they do pop up here on the ee. If the old ones are better ill wait. For one to show up and hope I can grab it before someone else does. Or just buy a new one cause its better let me know thanks |

Lots of good info in this thread about mounts, look for posts from Different he IS the man when it comes to m1A/m14's.

| To start with, I am not an expert, far from it. I do have the ARMS #18 on a Springfied Loaded rifle. I have had no issues with it and its the newer style, non-cutout rail. I chose this mount because of how low it sits. Didn't want a cheek pad on the gun and with this mount and low rings, you don't need it. I don't take it on and off, and it hasn't loosened after maybe a thousand rounds in a couple years. I do also have a usgi extractor, not sure if that matters or not with the mount. Good luck, just a FYI |
