Hi all,
I've looked over the years at replacing the bolt in my Poly M14/s but have put it off due to the fact that I just don't shoot it all that much and afik, the H/S is still good. Well, when I had it out the last time, it started to pop primers and that was the end of that. I've had had the head space checked (with what I suspect was a .308 gauge) and the report was ITS BAD. Anyway, for piece of mind and for the long term, who does the hive recommend to replace a bolt these days. Fulton and SEI used to do it but it's not on either website any more. Come on fella's, help a brother out. thanks, ka |

My Poly is S/N 128!!
Its an early one to say the least. I bought it in a pawn shop back in '96. Since then, I've put probably 1500rnds through it. Not a lot but then again, 7.62 is getting expensive to shoot. Now that I'm ready to reload 7.62, I want to get back into the M14 platform but need to get the bolt issue taken care of. To those who responded, who is this Warbird character and how do I get ahold of him? I'd like to do this soon but I kind of balk at paying Fulton $400 to put a $200 bolt into a $700 rifle. Thanks for the help guys and when I figure out how to post pice, I'll post a few of my Chicom classic ka |

From Warbird's site http://www.warbirdscustomguns.com/Rifle%20Shop%20services.htm
Convert Chinese Norinco or Polytech receiver for USGI bolt $125.
Chinese bolt conversion requires refinishing the barreled receiver, no exceptions. Refinish barreled receiver with mil-spec parkerizing $75. So, I have to ask, why doesn't he just say the conversion costs $200? |
