Can anybody tell me what H&R receiver and an SA 2-65 barrel means? It look pretty clean, nice stock shiney bore asking 850.00 is it worth it?

your rifle was rebarreled at some time with a Springfield Armory barrel mfg feb 1965

Thanks man. I thought getting in to AR's was gonna be expensive. They don't have anything on a Garand. I'm guessing the M-14's will give my wallet a heart attack.

buy once (all of 'em) and cry once

M1 and M1A should be in everyone's safe

you can research the M1's history if you have the serial number

As far as price you can do much better. For a shooter not a collector I wouldnt spend more than $650.00
