What is the weight difference between a Springfield M1A walnut stock and a USGI synthetic? Thanks!

| Assume both are sporting the metal butt plate. The Boyds' walnut stocks are a little wider than the USGI walnut stocks on the butt end and there's no selector cutout. Without using a digital scale, the commercial walnut stock will likely be about 4 ounces heavier than a USGI fiberglass stock. |

Assuming the figures you quoted are for USGI stocks, as stated the Boyds walnut stocks that SA Inc. uses are larger (therefore heavier) than USGI stocks. |
