A while back I posted about how my op-rod jumped the track and damaged my bolt. So I sent it in to the CMP and they promptly fixed the bolt and sent me a replacement op-rod (big +1 to the CMP for taking care of me, great people). So I put everything back together today and it seems like there is a good amount of wiggle between the op-rod tab and the op-rod track on the receiver. My question is there supposed to be some play between the tab and the track? How is it on your guy's M1's? I am kind of worried to shoot it after what happened last time.
A little background on my gun: CMP Springfield service grade, manf. in March 1945, SA barrel made in March 1945 ( I assume is original barrel) , I have hardly fired it at all, maybe 100-200 rounds. I have heard of the reciever track being worn out, but assuming this is still wearing the original barrel I don't see how the receiver could wear out before the barrel. What do you fellas think? |

Wiggle is OK. Hey, it needs to travel in the track. IF it jumps out during firing......that's bad.
