i was offered the following:

Springfield M1A standard that is less than a year old. It's in the factory synthetic stock,
A.R.M.S. #18 mount attached
trigger was upgraded to national match by Springfield.
Has 100 rds. through it.
Also have a USGI birch stock and USGI brown synthetic stock and hangaurd

I was wondering if anyone could help with the value of a set up like this. I am not too familliar with them and I dont trust gunbroker

$1500-1600.  Figure the rifle is worth 1200-1300, NM trigger group upgrade is around $200, and the ARMS mount is $150 or so.

The trigger job is about $40.  If you were to go out and buy a whole group, then yeah, $200.

$2200 in the rifle you have now, for that setup? Not such a good deal, really. But if it is what you want, and what you have is not, so be it.

Oh, gotcha. Yea, I'd agree with $1600 on his setup myself.

how is one of the standards compared to a socom? I mean in terms of reliability, practical uses, and pricing/value. Does the barrel length difference do a lot? As I said before I basically know next to nothing about these but I always wanted to learn and try them out.

I shot a socom this last summer and really liked it. So I know they are fun.
