so i have a springer NM. every time i shoot the first shot, the rear sight clicks up one notch if its all the way down. when i shoot again it wont move or if i have it clicked up already. what would be the problem?

so i shoot,click back down, shoot, click back down

it also shoots about a foot high at 100yds

how does the 1/2 moa hood work?

i usually use a scope, so dont know to much about it

Get a new elevation pinion and rear sight cover.   That will fix you up.

so is the 1/2moa in use when the notch on the hood is up or down?

This should help you out.  Got this off from the Fulton Armory site regarding the NM rear hooded aperture and the 1/2 inch moa.  At my zero's, I have the notch in the up position.
