I know it's probably an impossible request. But has anyone else noticed how many threads degrade to childish bickering on this site?. SA versus this. SEI love/ hate..........Who support's who ETC. This is a technical forum is it not. I find myself visiting less and less because many threads are nothing more than bickering. Okay Rant over. Carry on.

There are a lot of experts with "SDS" that need to belittle others with differing opinions or less than complete knowledge than their own. It is the world we live in.

In this forum, this whole website, the entire internet, the world for that matter. Ask an opinion on a subject and your going to hear many. Because of it there is always going to be friction. Friction because of many things. I think it boils down mainly we are passionate about a particular subject. So Passionate we defend it like it's our only reason for being. It isn't going to change. Not starting an  thread in a forum, not standing up on a soap box shouting, "Can't we all just get along" or something more drastic. There is always going to be this friction. It's not going away until we are all dead every last one of us. Then after that nature will probably find something or someone else to spar against the other opposing force. It's a never ending cycle, an impossible request.

Thats understandable, but when a post gets past the point of no return.
the moderators should shut it down. Pointless bickering is Bullshit.

Its easier to just go elsewhere where you can exchange ideas and learn something with mature, experienced adults.

I don't see bickering, just some disagreement and free men have always had the right to disagree.

I'm not always right and I'm not always wrong.

When people disagree I welcome their comment, sometimes they can change my opinion and outlook.

If I don't like bickering, I just don't read it.  Most of the time it rather entertains me.

lol i cant take part in those arguments because iv'e only owned "such and such" so i don't know anything about the others and don't care to. Making this a pretty pointless statement to each their own.

Rationalize much?
"Don't teach abstinence (sp?), condoms only. Kid's are gonna have sex." "My vote doesn't count, why bother." "Government is just gonna grow, why fight it?"
If we accept that we can't disagree, even passionately disagree, in a civil manner, then that's how it will be.

Aren't you a dreamer. While the kids analogy applies because it is that of human nature the vote thing doesn't fit because that is an example of personal choice of the individuals mentality. Teach kids all you want about sex, you'll never succeed in total abstinence as you will never succeed in curving ones passion/beliefs enough to stop bickering, fighting, war. Human nature is what it is. If it ever changes It won't be in our life times. Maybe in a millenia, but who's to say we'll be around as a race that long? In the mean time why don't we accept the things we can not change and go from there? Of course that isn't going to work because we can't agree on the things we can't change. LOL Well now that is just a pickle.  How's about  lets argue and bicker about something?

Now there's a type of person we need more of. Somebody who makes sence...

You obviously have never been to AR Discussion forum.  You want to see some real bickering?  Go there.  I've been guilty of partaking in some of them, too.  It's much much more civil in here.

I've noticed that there is one or two, mostly one, very opinionated, custom M14 owner who always seems to be in the middle of it.

At least two, maybe three and then there's the very opinionated LRB owners... what's your point?

Then you have the very opinionated, Springfield M1A owners who always
seem to be in the middle of it and let's not forget the loyal Fulton owners.
