Thank you, CMP! I put a little note in with my order to select a post war Harrington & Richardson if possible. Even after they stopped accepting orders for them, I still got what I consider to be a very nice example. The stock appears to be brand new with a striping to it, the butt plate is scratch free as well. The bluing is pretty good with only a few spots of unevenness and minimal scratches on the muzzle end. Does anyone know how to determine the exact year of manufacture? I have not inspected the bore yet but I can't wait to shoot it!

Good score. Scott Duff's books have serial # tables and would be a good addition to your collection.  If you post all but, the last few digits of the Ser. #, somebody should be able to give you a month and year.  If all else fails, I'll try to look it up tonight for you.
Looks like you have a birch stock and walnut handguards. Not uncommon combo on guns that have been arsenal rebuilt. You may find some electro penciled info on the rec legs such as LEAD 65.  The nice parkerizing would make sense as a combo with the stock for such a rifle.

Thanks for the info. I will get the S/N when I get home. Is there a way to acquire matching birch handguards to complement the grain pattern?

For birch handguards, keep an eye on Gunbroker and e-screw. Nice stock. Give us the information on the barrel behind the op-rod. This will tell who made the barrel and month and year of barrel.

Huge honkin' plus one.

That water-stain pattern is beautiful.
