searched and couldn't fnd a answer. will a springrield M1A flash hider fit on a garand?
can it be modified to fit?

No, an M1A Flashhider will not work on a Garand. A Garand T-37 flash hider is threaded, and screws onto the barrel in place of the Garand's gas cylinder lock. The M1A flash hider slips on, and is held in place by a nut that threads on the barrel.
