I picked up a GDI G1-OSM Mount today for cheap, is it any good?  It seems pretty good, but I have a hard time using the iron sights like it's supposed to allow for.

Does anybody have experience with this mount?

I haven't found anyone talking about this mount.

I got one a while back for like $200 and I'm really happy
with it.

I picked up the Nov 2009 Shooting Times for an article
on M1A scope mounts.

The show a Trijicon TA70 mount that looks really familiar.
If you look close you can see GDI molded into the side of
the mount.

Trijicon sells it for $450 under their name or you can get
it directly from gdisecurity.com for $275.  Go figure.

I'm not sure if this mount is new or what, but it seems to work pretty good.

I have one on my m1a.  The rig sits in a Sage Chasis, and I use ARMS22...Larue Low rings.  The only dislike I have is that it is damn near impossible to use the iron sights with the mount attached, no matter how they say it is designed.  My field of vision is completely obscured and I have to peep through the rear sight...and though the Mount peep, in order to see the front blade.
