a friend of mine is getting out of the gun hobby and sellin some things off. i'm selling the gun for him, it's a springfield, the seriel # is in the 300,000 and a 1914 barrel. it is not from the cmp. what would be a good price?
don't turn this into a pisssing match about wheather it's safe to shot a low numbered 03 or not |

I'm not going to turn this into a discussion on whether to shoot the thing or not, but you should advise the prospective buyer of the facts about the rifle. For your own sake, to avoid liability, you should have the buyer sign a statement containing the text within the link, and acknowledging that he understands what is contained therein. If you sell the rifle to some guy, and he shoots it with a problem resulting, you, as the seller, could be on the hook for big bux.
http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18937 If he wants to shoot it afterwards, then it's his problem. We're talking strictly legalities here, not whether or not to shoot the thing. I don't want to open that can of worms, either. |
