I haven't noticed any threads about trigger work on m1a's. Has anybody in the past worked on shortening trigger pull?

Are they set at the factory at 5-6lbs?

Would a 4lb pull be bad or does it mess with the cycle?

While Smith E. as H2O recommends is a great company and armorer service, they are expensive.
There are armorer's who do M14/M1A work in CA, but I can't remember their names. You should look into it further.
The oversized S-7 Smith trigger and hammer pins require fitting to your group. That's another thing to consider and while the chrome silicon hammer spring is all that, you can just put a Superior Shooting CS hammer spring in. (which is what Smith's using anyways I believe.)
If money matters and your concerned about warranty void, than Springfield Armory actually has a very good custom shop and they do a trigger job for $35.

TRUE!

SAI's custom shop should not be overlooked for National Match mods.

I'll check into that.

I got spoiled. I had a RRA AR-15 with a NM trigger, just touching the thing sent a bullet down range. I dont want anything that sensitive on my m1a but something between that and what's stock would be ideal.
