CMP question > M1 / M14 / M1 Carbine

Im wanting to pick up a M! garand. Im a certified full time LEO in Alabama What do I have to do or fill out to be able to go to anaston and buy a rifle? Im not to clear on the rules after reading them, Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks alot

If i read it right doesnt me being a LEO covered under "special affiliates clubs"?? Also Do they do the background checks the same day in the store or is there a wait?

pretty certain its military or join a club, give em a call before you go. if you pass nics its same day

LEO works just like the military. If you are a sworn police officer that satisfies both the requirements for your marksmanship and your 'club'. You need a copy of your official ID and several other documents. The list is on the CMP sight, it's pretty straight forward. I'm a full time LEO and it took care of the basic requirements.

Do yourself a favor. Just call them before you go. Make 1000% sure that you take everything you need, they are the nicest people in the world. I flew up to Atlanta and drove over to Anniston 3 years ago. What a great day!!!!

Call and see if they even have the grade of rifle you are looking for. they are shipping out alot. I went to the north store looking for a service grade and they just had rack and field grades...so I bought a 1903

I called today and talked to a VERY nice lady. And all I need id my police ID and my drivers licence and I am set to buy my M1. I plan on taking the trip next week hopefully

They were all very nice to me. Even Orrin was nice, and I didn't even know it was him at the time!
