My friends M1A has a loose op rod guide. We ordered a new pin from Fulton Armory but that did not help. Any suggestions?

I'm no expert. But this is my findings. It can be slightly loose and still be deemed acceptable.  If it's flopping around then there is Knurling the barrel and reinstalling. This takes a lathe and a machinist .  I have heard of epoxying it but never tried it. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I have a flopper on a Chicom barrel. ( Norinco ) . Good luck WarDawg

I had the same prob and did a "temporary" fix that I haven't needed to finish. I took out the rollpin, expanded it 7/8ths of its length with a needle punch, put the narrow end back in the hole and forced it in with a brass drift. Locked up dead center and tight, 2000 rounds later, no give. Might want to try that.

We took it to a smith who resized the channel and installed an oversized pin. Tight as hell now.
