I am sending my trigger group off tomorrow to SEI to have their crazy horse trigger job done on it, and don't understand the m80 ht process. Is is worth the extra money to have it heat treated? What advantages does it offer? Would those of you have something m80 heat treated recommend getting the process?

Ron put it this way when I asked him about it...

M80HT is a surface hardening process that SEI uses to give a 60 Rockwell case hardness to about .002 to .003 - this goes over the 38 Rockwell through hardened
stainless steel MIL-SPEC gas cylinder and plugs and now that is double heat treated and is now bullet proof and corrosion resistant and almost wear proof.

I have M80HT applied liberally to my builds.

Alright, Thanks for the reply. I think I may go for it then.

Really?
Do you know of any companies that will do QPQ on firearms parts?

Miller Custom (posts in the 1911 forum) does Melonite on guns, long and short.

Sorry I didn't get back to this thread. To answer, no, not anyone I'd recommend.
