I guess I got lucky and found a Springfield Garand BNIB that was barrelled for .308. I have shot various factory rounds out of it and it functions great. I recently came into some LC mil surp 7.62x51. It shoots great with it but I have had a failure to extract in some more rapid fire strings. I am thinking that maybe when the chamber gets hot it causes some of the excess sealant that is on the milsurp to "grab" the chamber walls and cause the FTE. The bolt cycles all the way back and strips the next round into the back of the empty still in the chamber. Thoughts?

I had that same problem with my new SA M1A. Turned out to be a broken extractor plunger. When I sent in the rifle, SA replaced all the internals of the bolt and polished the chamber. Problem fixed.
