I'm a newbie to the M1a and just purchased my first one. It came with a Springfield Mount and 6X40mm scope attached. The sights were set to a BSZ of 250 yds. and the Scope is zeroed at 200yds. It's a pretty good shooter with AE ammo. 2 moa groups with the scope last night at 200 yds. The scope in question has a built in range finder/bullet drop comensator but did not come with a manual or instructions. I purchased the rig used. Does anyone have any experience with this scope and can give me a few pointers? Much appreciated. |
I bet if you call or email Springfield, they would send you a manual. ETA: not trying to be rude, I just don't have any personal experience with their scopes, but have heard great things about their customer service. |

Thanks Kamron! Please take pity on a newbie to range finding scopes. I printed this document out and read it. I understand how the scope works, in theory. The way it is set up. Should the scope be zeroed in at 100 yds. since the scope is segmented from 200 to 700 yards? |
That's quite a bit different from everyone I've ever talked to that had them. Heard nothing but good about their optics and the clarity of the glass. I know mine is clear and stays true. Just how are you flexing these? |
+1, while they aren't my first choice, the two I own have held up very well. I have one 6x on a M1a and a 4-14x on an AR50. |
I've heard about issues with the variables (reticle shooting loose, bubble level shooting loose etc) but the fixed 6x seems ok. I have the 6x and its been fine for years. |
