Horrible deal, Ill give you $400 for it, take it or leave it....

Just kidding, people like you make me so jealous and mad that I spent $1400 on just a normal M1A.

You did OK

Hell, you did better than buying it years ago when it was brand new.
Heel stamped or side stamped?

I am new to the m-14`s. What do you mean by heel stamped or side stamped? I will post some pics as soon as I can sneak it out when the old  lady isn`t around.

The rifle will have the serial number stamped on the side of the receiver or on the heel.
The side stamped receivers are said to be the very best right out of the box, but the heel stamped versions are better eye candy.

These are two of my heel stamped Poly Tech M14s after spending time at the Crazy Horse Spa in Arizona

man, that was a hell of a deal!! I paid $425.00 for mine in 1994!

You did VERY well!

I bought this earlier this year for $800. It does have a GI bolt, barrel, and (now) stock, but it'd been worth it without the GI parts.

Weren't these considered to be total garbage when they came out in the 1990s? EVERYONE said they were worthless KB deathtraps not at all worth the $350 they were selling for. I turned then down all the time for $350-$400.

Was Fulton Armory and everyone else trashing them lying?

Nobody in the firearms industry would ever be dishonest or deceitful.

I think the OP should go buy a lottery ticket, ASAP.  You might be on a roll.

Nah, would never happen.

Also, a lot of the "long headspace" bullshit is because people were checking them with .308 gauges.  Dumbasses.

To the OP, you did damn good.  I hate you.

I paid $700 for this one about 2 years ago:

Worth every penny.

Still dialing mine in (have had limited time at the range), but it is VERY consistent, if I do my part.

I haven't really shot mine much for accuracy, but its surprsingly accurate (~2MOA or less) with southafrican ammo. I bet if I fed it something better I could get near 1MOA or perhaps less. But I've got a pile of precision rifles as it is.

I want one.  I just want a plain old M1A and don't wanna spend $1300 on a Springfield when it isn't even as good as one of these Polytechs since they only did limited runs on GI parts, ect.

There is a NIB Poly listed in the EE right now.
If I didn't already have 8 of them  - I would snap it up...

But I am not an FFL.

Plus I can't spend any big money right at this moment.
