I misplaced my instructions.  Anyone know how much torqe for the side screw? Thanks in advance!

It's not that much, damit I don't have mine either.

It's posible and a disaster if you strip the reciver. I normaly wnet with red locktight and snug and left it at that.

Might IM Different he will probably know.

No more than 100 INCH-pounds maximum for the ARMS # 18.  I would stop at 70 INCH-pounds.  That worked well enough for my old style ARMS # 18 scope mount.

manual says 90-100 inch pounds for the 3/8 inch locking bolt, no more than 100 inch pounds.

Thanks for all your replies!  I stripped the screw that came with the mount with what didn't seem like very much torque- didn't use a torque wrench.  The new screw came in the mail today so reinstalled it and torqued to 60 inch/lbs and used locktight.  It's a Springfield and the receiver must be harder than the screw since the threads completly ripped off the screw.  How common is it to damage the receiver if over torqued?

You won't hurt the receiver.  The bolt is intentionally softer than the receiver.
