I just got an SAI Standard tonight.  Everything was kind of tight except the operating rod and trigger assembly.  The flash suppressor and gas spindle valve took some time to get out.

I'm changing out the regular gas cylinder for an SAI NM gas cylinder (combination front band and gas cylinder).  Getting the regular gas cylinder off was tough.  It was on there tight.  I slid the NM gas cylinder on and it got stuck at the gas lock threads.  After some heavy hammering (with a soft rubber hammer of course) I got it 4 threads down.  So I am about half way past the gas cylinder lock screws.

I've tried the barrel and gas cylinder under hot water but that just made it harder.  I have as much Hoppes oil on it as it can have right now.

Please help!!!

have you tried to work it back off (probably have) so you can slip some grease under there for the next go?
