I just painted a fiberglass GI stock and handguard with a desert camo scheme.
Here is a picture of what it looks like.

I'm going to do another one in a fall/winter grasslands pattern.
What colors would you guys suggest?
Coyote tan as a base? Dirt Brown and OD Green as the other main colors, with a touch of Desert Tan here and there?
Your suggestions are appreciated!

For fall/winter..2 diferent browns,a slate red color, black, and OD green maybe some light grey. For winter white with green spltches works well..itll be tough for both.Nice paint job by the way.

On m-14forum there was a member who did that in several interesting patterns. I snt him a stock and had it done up in gloss black with a cool flame job.

Good job man.  I would think the one you got wouldn't be all that bad for winter.  Lighter hues and all.

Thanks. But I'm looking for something that will fit into a scrub oak, grass land environment.
The desert tan base coat is too light I believe. Blending in with trees and grass will be hard to do. So the base coat has to be right.

Here's a picture of the base coat on the stock before I finished it.

Too light IMO.

Here's a pic up closer with the window screen templates finish I used to shoot the break up colors.

I want to use the same methods but the colors will have to be different for the winter trees and grass.

I need suggestions on colors, guys!
Thanks!
