I read a post in GD stating that the guy who runs the CMP said that they are getting more Garands.

Is this true?

Yes, but won't be available for 90 days to a year.

Orest Michaels, director of CMP operations:

Now for the good news - this is not the end of the road, just a hiccup. We have good reason to believe that we may receive another shipment of Garands sometime this year. Keep in mind that there is no way to predict condition and that it will take anywhere from 4-6 months to get any of these ready for sale - se we can't make any promises about these either.

Now, CMP is not prone to talk about things that "might" happen, so if they're talking about another shipment of Garands, it's most likely a done deal maybe minus a few details.  It's just a matter of how long it will take to get them inspected/graded/repaired/made sellable.  Keep in mind they're dedicating the majority of their armorers toward the carbines at the momment, so sorting a new shipment of Garands may very well slow down the whole operation.

They still have the Greek Racker at $395 + shipping(22.95). When/if more M1 are released look for a price raise and a new grading program...

I'd be happy if I could get a nice WInchester or HRA barreled or stripped receiver and PARTS!

call the south store-- they had a bunch of Grade B Winchester receivers there when I was there a few months ago.  not saying they're still there, but it's worth a shot

Would this new batch be from American inventory or returns from some international source?

Orest said a while ago that the Army has already transfered all the Garands to CMP that are going to be transfered from them.  The ones the Army is retaining are for vet use.  Any future Garands will come from foreign returns (there are PLENTY of rifles still out there)

There was a guy on Jouster who was talking to Orest last week, and apparently there is a big load of Greek returns in customs right now.

DUE TO THE UNEXPECTED AND UNPRECEDENTED LARGE VOLUME OF ORDERS FOR M1 GARAND RIFLES, CMP IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK OF ALL M1 GARAND OPTIONS. WE DO EXPECT TO HAVE M1 GARANDS AVAILABLE LATER THIS YEAR AND PLAN TO ONCE AGAIN BEGIN ACCEPTING ORDERS FOR M1 GARANDS BEGINNING IN OCTOBER 2007.

WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE CMP PROGRAM
