I'm getting to make some more room in my safe and I dont shoot either as much as I should but its nice to know its there. My question is I'm going to sell one but cant decide which. One is a preban Super Match with a Douglas IIRC barrel the other is a M21 post ban with the optional barrel and I want to say Krieger but I cant remember but remove the stocks and they look the same other than the preban uses allot of ex-gi-parts. They both shoot the the same and are accurate as hell. A good friend of mine wants to buy one of them so I have decided to sell I just cant decide which, how about a little help here. What are the other differences here? Which is better between the two, not from a money value point but a mechanical point? When I look at the msrp on Springfields site it has the Super Match priced less than the M21 so stocks aside what is the difference and which is better??? Thanks, Mike |
I sure hope your right as I sold him the Super Match as he wanted the Walnut stock and I like the adjustable of the M21.......... If I had kept the Super Match I would have restocked it anyway I just couldnt decide on which stock to get, something synthetic as I might replace the M21's with something along that route. |
Without playing with the rifle first hand I couldnt tell you what you have that is GI, I waassuming you knew since you said it had a lot of ex-GI parts. You could research things like the bolt, op rod, flash hider, etc. on here with posts about GI parts and find out what exactly you have. |
| The reason I say that is that it was a older M1A and I was under the asumption that most of the older models used GI parts whil they were avaiable, plus the guy I got it from was a Marine from the early 60's and he had had it apart many times and told me that this was one of the better ones before they went all comerical. He had 3 and was trimming him self down to one. |
