Howdy

I ordered  2 M1s, a Field Grade (non-greek) and Service Grade about a month ago. It was right before they said they were no longer accepting orders for Service grades. I know they say not to call asking how long it will be or what the status is, but should I be worried? How long should it be taking? I know they have alot of orders to fill and have to wait unitl they grade what they have. thanks

It said 90-120 days, so they are not late until March.  There was a guy here who was one of the last to get on the service rifle list, and he had about 100 rifles in front of him.  It is apparently taking a while to sort the rifles.

You did receive the email confirming that they received your order, right?

As long as your order went through and you have confirmation, then you've got nothing to be worried about yet.

P.S. Lucky you!  I missed out by a day...

the 90 -120 days is their 'cover our ass' statement.. most get theirs in 2-3 weeks.. unless you are on the wait list for Service Grades....

I sent my order off the week before Christmas.  They ran my card last week.  I hadn't heard any kind of confirmation at all.  I called to get shipping information and found out a) someone supposedly tried to run my card and it was declined (even though there was a charge on my account) b) they called my "house" and talked to my wife (I don't have a land line,  just my cell which my wife never answers) c) they took my first name and last name and tried to make some kind of e-mail address to a domain I had never heard of.  The phone call was the trick to get everything sorted out.  Evidently,  they put a hold on the order.  According to the service rep they "forgot" to take it off.  As soon as I got off the phone they shipped it.  It was delivered today.

I don't mean for this to come across negative towards CMP because they have been extremely helpfull and nice on the phone.  And where else can you get a Garand for $425? I imagine with all the paperwork you have to submit it's easy to make mistakes.  My only point is,  they got a lot of information wrong from my application and my order was held up as a result.  On top of it all,  shipping notifications etc. went off to the bit bucket because of the e-mail snafu.  I had no clue the rifle was shipped when they finally got everything straightened out.  I hate to say bug them,  but based on my experience if it has been a whole month... it may be worth a call just to make sure they got it.

it's tough to say what the wait time is right now.  reports seem to be very mixed, moreso than usual.

One thing is for sure (repeated time and again by Mr. Michaels)... CMP would be able to process and ship orders MUCH faster if people would quit calling and emailing them stoopid questions about carbines that CMP has repeatedly said they are not answering questions about at this time.

between that and the "did i get IBTL on the SG's" emails, this has slowed CMP's processing ability by several days.

The best advice I can give EVERYONE (collectively) regarding CMP is to STFU and be patient (no offense intended to the OP).  Their "don't call us, we'll call you" email means just that- the less they're pestered, the faster they work.

that is exactly why I asked, I didnt want to call them and bother them. I guess I will keep waiting, I am just anxious and excited, I should learn to be more patient

I'm at 60 days today and still not charged yet.   I'm hoping to see something in the next few weeks maybe.
