I can't remember - for the life of me - who makes the full length Picatinny handguard scope mount for the M1a? It's not like the SOCOM II forend, it's just the top rail cover. I have looked all over the place so please don't flame me or do the "is it this time again?" GD stuff...

IIRC the company also makes a version for Mini-14s and Garands if that helps...

I think this is what you're looking for: (If not, Raf will know for sure)
Amega Ranges

Hope this helps...

YES!

Thanks!

I wanted to do a price comparison between that and some of the other stock options.

I have tight-fitting synthetic stocks ... wondering if I should opt to upgrade the whole stock or just the top ...

Thanks again!

Nice... How solid is the mount if I may ask?

Well, it's held on with about 10 screws to the barrel and then about five in a plate on the top pressing down - pretty solid.

Nice.

The other thing I like about these mounts vs. an entirely new drop-in system is that they don't disrupt the beautiful lines of the original stock. M1s/M14s are beautiful rifles ... seems a shame to drop them into one of the (admittedly) more flexible stocks!

That, and you can pretty much get 2 of the Amega mounts for the cost of 1 aftermarket stock.
