I am looking for an optic to place on my M1A with ARMS mount. I was debating with one of the following
Aimpoint M2
Trijicon
Leupold CQT
Leupold MRT 1-5X
What are the opinions?
I have a McMillian M2 Stock with adj cheek rest and it has a modified 18" barrel with a band front sight.
The only reason that I went with a arms mount is to devert some of the gas away from my face when shooting with a suppressor. Otherwise I would stick with scout mount and a Aimpoint.
Thanks

I think I would go with a 2-MOA Aimpoint in a LaRue low ring.

How is that working out for you?

If you're up to additions to your list, check out the IOR Valdada 4x24 M1 for .308.  They have dragunov reticals that are calibrated for .308 out to 800m.  You can get them for under $400 if you shop around a bit and I've heard really really good things about them.

I use the Leupold 1.5-5 Mark 4 and I couldn't be happier. I had the Tri-Power and ended up wanting some magnification.

I have a Leupold Illuminated MK4 with an A.R.M.S. Mount on my M1A. I originally had the "Old Style" that I traded straight up for the new style. I prefer the "New Style" vs the "Old A.R.M.S. base" because I do not have the brass hitting my scope maring it ...and I have had no ejection problems due to this mount.  Here are some pics and a component list.

Jon Tank in Nebraska did all Accurizing work.

USGI TRW Trigger 4.5-5lb Crisp
USGI TRW OpRod fitted
USGI TRW Bolt Head Space checked
Jon Tank one piece NM Buffer
Gas System unitized
USGI Flash Suppressor Reamed
Barrel Crowned and flushed to Flash Suppressor
NM Jon Tank Milled front Sight
NM2A rear Sight Base with USGI NM Windage & Elevation Knobs and hooded aperture
McMillian M1A Stock with Ft.Devon Cut
NM Jon Tank Steel Bedding Block
Rooster R33 extended Bolt release
A.R.M.S. Mount
Leupold Illuminated MK4

BTW I brought it to the range last week three shot group measures less than 1/2 MOA @ 100ydhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/DocMinster/IMG_0013.jpg

Leupold 1-5x MRT, or an IOR scope.  IOR 2-12x32 looks nice.

Now that I have a cheek rest that I like I have gone back to an EOTech on my Hybrid.

The arms mount really cuts down on the gas expelled in your face. It is not as distracting, but you still get a little. I would like to stick with a scope that allows the useage from 1-300 yards away. I do not want anything above a 6 power. If I have to go furthur I have my Rem 700.
The tank bedding block looks very interesting... and I will have to follow up on the IOR scope.
Thanks Medic17

That's good to know because this configuration just about blew my hat off.

Keep us posted with your scope selection.
