What size roll pin is needed for the Magazine Catch on the M14 trigger group?

Magazine Latch Pin USGI drawing number 7791418 NSN 1005-00-994-4242

I don't have that drawing, yet.

The USGI drawing 7267032 Trigger Housing Assembly shows the magazine latch pin hole diameter to be 0.130 " + 0.004 ".

If you replace that sucker, make sure you stake it well.  If it walks out, you won't be able to get the trigger group out of the rifle because it will prevent the guard from opening all the way.  At this point, you'd be in for an interesting time trying to get it back in place.

Okay, I have the hook up. Drawing 7791418 showed up today with a bunch more for the non-profit CD.

Here's the USGI drawing dimension requirements for the magazine latch pin:

length = 0.64 " - 0.01 "

diameter = 0.123 " - 0.010 " AS MEASURED AT THE BEVELED END.  Each end of the pin has a 10 degree + 5 degree bevel.

lithgow303, if you want the drawing send me an e-mail at [email protected] I can send it to you via e-mail.

Different-

Thanks a ton for your digging!  I'm headed to the hardware store tomorrow to look for a .125" roll pin which should set  things up.  I'll drop an email as well on on the drawing.  Kinda drives me nuts that a $.19 part can drop my $1500 rifle out of action...
