I am looking to start buying stuff for my Poly.  Is the Arms 18 the lowest m-14 mount?  I really DO not want to add a cheek piece to my stock.  I am using the E2 stock and it sits a tad bit higher than the standard stock.  I am looking to put an SN4 on it IF it shoots well enough, I am going to accuracy test it with my SS 16 power.

Check out both Sadlack and Smith Enterprises.  Pricey, but possibly the best.  Sadlack actually has a titanium mount out!

well i just put my arms 18 on my spring m1a, the top of the rail is about even with the top of the iron sights.  plus you'll have to add in the height of the rings and scope.
if its really a problem get yourself a bigger head. :-)

You're need a cheek-rest no matter what.... or you're end up working too hard to line up your eye to the scope.  I know, I try....
