7.62 Nato . good stuff ? whats it worth ? got a line on some that the guy wants to get rid of real bad and wants me to make an offer. he wants .175 per round, stuff looks good from what little of it I saw still in ammo cans, bandolers and strip clips. Ill be using it in my M14S |

Sounds like the recent batch of Aussie that was being sold a few years ago. 200 round cans, on 5 round clips and package some pretty heavy duty bando's. if it is the Aussie stuff it was selling for around $24-28.00 per 200 round can but that was when it was plentiful as well...plus shipping. Head stamped MF 83 F4 Most Indian was packed loose and a quick inspection would show it had seen better days. Dented, corroded cases and bullet not seated correctly......This stuff stay away from. I still think you're high there on the price. I've heard lots of bad things about Indian ammo, and while I am sure there are many folks out there who haven't had a problem, the fact that Indian ammo produces lots of horror stories is enough to keep it away from my rifles. I'd much prefer to pay a few more cents per round to not have to worry about bad sealant along with overpressure and squib loads... If you can get for about $.10/per round thats probably the most I'd pay considering you're getting strippers, bando's and cans. |

....UPDATE.... OK ........... The Good took a couple bandos out and shot it today. No FTF, FTE, FTC. No case deformations, no swelling, splitting, no blown primers. Close range up to 50 yds same accuracy as the SA and Port. Same poi. shooting side by side with SA cant tell any difference in muzzle report or blast. a few rounds were a touch hotter on recoil but you had to be paying VERY close attention to notice it now .... The bad .... one can is nasty. Looks like it may have gotten a bit hot (burn mark on paper label inside of can. Stripper clips are corroded abit leading to some case corrosion, not much but a little. Probably wont shoot this stuff and just demill it for reloading, Dont know accuracy at 100 yds isnt great, probably about 6" and low compared to the SA. Part of this may be due to me paying more attention to the rounds and watching for any squibs, ftf, fte etc than just concentrating on accuracy. That and a 20 mph diagonal wind didnt help any and like everyone knows this stuff is dirty, didnt show much difference in the bore but the chamber definitly is dirtier, so IM sure it is dirtier through the bore also Would I buy more ???????????????? Maybe, Ill have to see how tired I get of the extra cleaning needed after a range session. Probably not though Will I shoot it ????????????? Yes. Its decent range/plinking ammo and actually it shot better open sight than it did with the scope. So for just going out and getting some trigger time to relieve tension ..... sure why not For puncing holes in targets for accuracy or dropping a coyote or hog or attacking zombies Ill use the SA and Port I was needng more ammo cans anyway and Ive got bandos and stripper clips out the wazoo just nee a spoon or two and Im good to go |

Not telling you what to do, but if it was me, I would tumble clean the whole lot, then go threw each and every round my hand to inspect each round very closely. Granted that you would not be able to see a weak structural cases, but it will weed out any cases that may be showing visible cracks, pitting, or loading flaws. As for shooting it thinking that you have saved some money on plinking ammo, all it take is one bad round to blow up a rifle, and I don't see any cost savings when put that way. |
