If the vertical adjustable portion of the rear sight is removed, how many clicks from bottom should the sight be set at to reestablish the 250 meter BSZ (or an approximate starting point).

Typically, the 250 meter zero is twelve clicks from bottom.  100 meter zero is normally eight clicks from bottom.

Thanks for the reply. Considering your answer - can I set my rear sight at 12 clicks up from bottom and zero at 25 meters and thereby achieve a 250 meter BSZ?

No.  That will get you in the ballpark. Since each rifle may vary, and your stock fit and front-end sling tension may vary from others', you should confirm your zero.

Go 10 clicks up and shoot at 25m; that will give a 200-meter zero.  Once you have that 25/200m zero, go up two clicks for your 275m BSZ
