| Has anyone used an "XM 21" SEI scope mount on an M1A? SEI has these on sale on their discontinued/sale page. I know you get what you pay for, but I still have a hard time justifying spending that much for the newer SEI or Sadlak scope mount. I'm not able to get a close up of the sale mounts to actually see what the difference is in the new/old. Thanks Greg |
---------------------------------- It does say "Smith Ent" on it and it was made from the same material as their current NSN items (i.e. 4140 CM). It's just marked "XM-21". I saw them at the factory a couple of months ago during the first 2ID M14SE build. Certainly a collectable bit of kit, in addition to being an excellent MIL STD 1913 (Picatinny) mount in it's own right. Can't go wrong with this unit. |
========= Dimensionally, the SEI XM-21 Picatinny (MIL STD 1913) scope mount is the same as the newer M14 NSN mounts (p/n 2006 & p/n 2008). That's perhaps the best way to answer your question. However, if you still have any questions call the factory at 480 964-1818. |
| Well, I ordered the mount today. Ordered the XM21 Picatinny that Mach6 mentioned. By the way, they've got 15 left. Going to mount a SS 16x42 to my Super Match and see what it'll really do. Chances are, I'll probably work up an accuracy handload, then go back to the open sites. Bad thing is, I can't shoot open sites anymore worth a hoot! Greg |
