I'm sure that this has probably been covered in past threads, but I missed them. I ordered my first Garand from CMP on July 13th, on average, how long will it be before I can expect the order to be processed? Also, I'd like to log in and check my order status, but have no customer number. Can you check your order status without a customer number? Thanks for any help.

It seems that folks have been receiving rifles within 2-3 weeks of their order lately.  A couple of guys on Jouster.com ordered at the end of June and already have fired their new rifles.  You will get your customer number when the order is processed.  You may be able to call on Friday or so and ask if you have been given a number yet.  I did that with my first order, and they were very understanding of my enthusiasm.  Good luck on your new rifle.  If anything is wrong with it, the CMP folks are great at making you happy.

Thanks for the info sashmore.  It's pretty tough to curb my enthusiasm. This is somthing I've been planning to do for some time now and just kept putting off.  I finally got off my butt and did it. Now I can't wait.

Cheer up! When I ordered my Garand from the old DCM, it took a year to the day from the day I sent in the paperwork till the USPS delivered it registered mail, and I wasn't at home.

You can thank our "friend" Ted Kennedy for speeding up the delivery of the Garands by privatizing the DCM, and turning it into the what we know today as the CMP.

Both of mine took three weeks. One order was placed late April and the other in early June. The Greek ammo took just a few days after placing the order.

Email is probably the best way to communicate with them.

Got mine last month.  It was almost exactly four weeks from the time I sent in the application (priority mail) to the day the rifle was delivered.

I e-mailed CMP (try [email protected]) and requested my customer number to check status on the CMP Store site.  A short while later CMP also sent a generic e-mail with the number when my order went into the "Processing" state.

It took me about 3 weeks to get my Springfield Greek SG and about 4 days for my M2 Ball to feed it. Great people to deal with and now to decied what to buy next. Another Garand or 03A3? I might add I was really happy with the Garand I got, It was miss matched but looked good and is a great shooter. Greatest weapon I ever spend 500 dollars on bar none.

I e-mailed CMP and was given my customer number. It appears that they have all of my information, but under Pending Orders and Order History there is nothing. Does this mean that my order has not been processed yet?

Right.  It hasn't gone into "Processing" yet.

On the bright side though, now you can check on it three or four times a day.
