Is there any truth to the rumor that Springfield has stopped offering their lifetime warranties?

Sounds like a springfield hater trying to stir up trouble.

Yeah, this one was debunked I believe over on the M14 forums. After this report was posted one of them members called Springfield and got the defiinte word that it  was bull. They still have and honor a lifetime warranty.

I spoke with an SA rep at a show last weekend. He was still pitching the lifetime warranty.

Is the warranty only valid to the original purchaser?

No, the warranty is good no matter how many times the M1A changes hands. You could be the 10th owner and it would not matter.

That's tough to beat. I can't think of too many other products that have lifetime transferable warranties.

Maybe a hammer from Sears?!?!

Nobody raises the warranty issue about Norincos or any other make of M-14.

+1 on the Chinese... just try sending a defective rifle back to China for repair.

I've had several Polys and they all were satisfactory weapons for blasting soda cans.  I looked at a Norinco ONCE! The Norinco looked like it was manufactured in someone's kitchen.

Edited to add a pic of my Springfield(s) and RAT-7. I replaced the Scout's brake w/ a flash suppressor and installed a GI stock w/ fake selector switch.

I have to plug the RAT-7, if you're looking for a great blade check out the RAT-7!!! I met Jeff Randall at the last gun show and had him sign my RAT's box. He said that they're coming out with a folder and an auto.
