My father bought a M1 that was cut down to what i have been heard is a "Tanker".  The only problem with it is the darn thing spits the clip after only a few rounds. Wer have brought it to a few different  gunsmiths and they have not been able to fix the problem. I have been told that the operating rod is the problem because the timing is off. The only problem there is that I assume this is a custom piece since it is shorter. Is there any where to buy shortened operating rods, or does anyone know a good gunsmith that could work on this gun. It is in great shape and would be a shame if it was not shootable anymore. Any info would help, Thanks

1------Replace Clip Latch Spring with HD unit

2------Replace Clip Latch with new part

3------Get "Tanker" Op Rod Spring from Wolff. You can't cut down a standard M1 spring. They will coil bind and/or too weak.

Yeah...I wondered about that "Tanker" on Gunbroker.

Seemed like it was a little too cheap...
