I really want to buy a M1 Garand and a M1903 Springfield through the CMP, but I am not a member of a club.  Does anyone know of any clubs near the Louisville KY area?  I looked at the website for the Kentucky State Rifle & Pistol Association (www.kyspra.org) and they do entry level M1 matches for those wanting to buy M1s, but they don't have any contact info.

I joined the Garand Collector's Association.  Sent them $25 and I was good to go.

How strict is the CMP on the shooting certification?

I had a conceal carry licence ten yeras ago but never renewed it. I DID shoot for that license of course and I think I still have some sort of certificate from it.

Plus I have the required hunters safety course completed in Texas, but it's not a shooting required test.

Do you think this will be enough for them along with paying the $25 to join one of their approved clubs?
