I have some old 30-06 rounds and can't seem to find any info on them.  Was wondering if any one could help id these;

             2-58
     VE               D
             7.62

and

            58
     TE           D
             3

They all look the same, brass case, red sealant around a 360 heavily crimped primer.  Silver colored bullets that are magnetic with red sealant.

Thanks for any help.
Phil

Edited to add, the VE and TE are on oposite side of the primer than the D.

They are both French cartridges.  The numbers indicate month and year of manufacture. The TE and VE are codes for the cartridge manufacturers and the D is the code for the cartridge case metal supplier.  The bullet should be a lead core with a cupronickel jacket.

I don't have specific information on the manufacturer codes.

Thanks for your information.  I forgot to mention they have the remnants of a black painted tip.

"The bullet should be a lead core with a cupronickel jacket."

The bullets are magnetic.
