I want to put a new (modern) scope on a M1D barreled Garand. Any suggestions about a scope that would work. the OD has to be 7/8" . BTW You can buy M1D barrels from Gun Parts. By that I mean barrels with the M1D scope mount block already pressed on them. It then has to be fitted (lathe cut) to the receiver. I had a ball doing it. |

I'd be interested to learn of any good, suitable for semi-auto, .30-'06 rifle scopes were available. Absent that, maybe it might be possible to tig weld a set of 1" or 30mm rings to a repro M1D base. Don't forget the cheek piece to compensate for scope offset. You will need it. |
