I like the VFG though!

I believe that is a flashlight/laser from Streamlight or a similar company.

Yup, I thought it was a red dot at first too, but it is a Streamlight TLR-1 light.

Why is the Calico an Aow and not a SBR?

Coz it has a VFG & has never had a stock installed..
Some states have laws that ban SBR/SBSs but not AOWs.

Thank God Im in KY which pretty much lets me get what I want!

Edit: As long as the wife lets me

I figured since no one has added to this since May, I'd toss one up...

This is my...

Mossberg 500A (Duracoated)
8.5"
3+1 (will be a 4+1 once I load it with 2" Centurions)
Safety Harbor VFG
Hogue Tamer pistol grip

Also have a custom made SKT Industries thigh holster for it with a thumb break and 2 custom shell holders that hold 16rds.

Yup.  Double barrel AOW in .410.

The SOT who built this found two receiver forgings, one for 12 ga and one for .410.  The 12 ga was already sold, so I grabbed the .410.

I only have a few firearms on my bucket list.  A side-by-side AOW was one of them.

Was.

Me too

Somebody needs to make a non-nfa version of this with rifled barrels in .45/.410.

As far as the shotguns go, they came from the factory wearing pistol grips. If they've ever worn buttstocks then they have to be registered as SBSs. At least that's how I understand it.

Nicely done. Reminds me of my younger days.
Next step is to make it a multi shot rotating cylinder.

approved form 1 = a stainless steel pen gun.
All parts were made from scratch (other than two springs). I made an offset captured firing pin and striker assembly. Barrel is 416 stainless from a green mountain blank, everything else is 304 stainless. I still need to blast the whole thing for a nice finish.

Ready to fire

Okay so, I've been looking at all these Mad Max 20ga double barrel shorties  here and elsewhere.
Yes, I want one ...   How short are you guys actually cutting the SXS tubes?

FWIW, I've seen a few pics on-line of some short 20ga dbl barrels that were cut to as short as 9"  - some were 12ga too.

Anyone cut a 20ga SXS shotty to 8", ... or less?

Just looking to learn ... Thanks.

I might go an inch or two shorter if I was the only one ever shooting it ... but where's the fun in that?

Awesome, Tony, thanks. I wanted to go to 8", but am still considering which of several "donor" 20ga SXSs to do it to.

Finally got it done, guys.

The "doner" for this project was an old 20gn Stevens 311H that I'd had forever.  Those double-guns were built on good, heavy, old-school steel.

The grip is patterned after the Bisley big-bore revolver grip. Barrels are 8.5".

So here's my version of Max Rockatansky's post-apocalyptic slayer:

Now all I need is a supercharged V-8 Ford Coupe, some tight-fitting leather, and one of those Dingo doggies ...

An old friend stopped by on a 2-month RV trip around the west.  He's a really artistic guy and works for Apple in Los Angeles.
He was beyond stoked and got to add some fun memories of the trip.  His first MG experience.  He also played with some suppressors.

I am confused.  Did that start out life as a shotgun with shoulder stock?  If it did then it is now an SBS and not an AOW.  If I am wrong please explain how?
