Just saw this in an email ad from Midway USA:
http://www.midwayusa.com/s?promotionid=1093858&cm_mmc=pe_weekly-_-specials-_-initial-_-20160614 Claims 450 fps shooting full weight 375gr arrows and up to 8 full power shots on one air charge. It's not a crossbow, but is it really an airgun either? Passing fad? Or will it storm the hunting market like the crossbow did a few years ago? |

Much of how well these airgun arrow shooters do will depend a lot on how game laws are written and will be re-written. The Benjamin is not the first to do this, but it is the much more affordable air gun arrow shooter than its competition. It is also the most powerful (at this time) of any.
If state game laws start permitting big game hunting with these, then it allows a demand above just target and pest shooting---even if it is only allowed for disabled hunters who cannot draw a bow, and find crossbows too hard and slow to load. For right now, they are an interesting if not useful thing to have. |

This is definitely not a fad, and really is a game changer. It opens up the market of crossbow hunting to many people who are elderly, weak, or injured that cannot pull back a 150-180 draw on a crossbow.
I just ordered one from Midway using a coupon code and got it even cheaper. Mine should be here this Wednesday. I have been following this for the last six months ever since they started promoting it during development. Since it pushes the arrow from the tip of the arrow, there is no arrow wobble like there is with traditional bows and crossbows. That is why it can deliver 2 inch groups at 50 yards where most crossbows cannot. Plus the ability to be able to decock the action very early is something that sets it apart from crossbows. I already have a Benjamin Marauder in .25 cal so I can use my same pump for it. |
