First thing I would do is ditch the pointed pellets. Get some round nose lead (diablo) pellets like Crosman Premiers, RWS Superdome, JSB Exact or H&N Field Target Specials. Pointed pellets suck.
But yeah, a peep is a cool way to run one of those guns. I believe Crosman/Benjamin offers a Williams sight for that gun. If you want to try a scope, here's the mount you need: http://www.rlairgunsupply.com/scopes-mounts-binoculars-spotting-scopes-access/benjamin-air-rifles-scope-mount/ You may have trouble with wandering point of aim with different power levels, though (different amount of pump strokes). |
| I have shot Benjamin Model 392 for years. I have a Limited Edition 392 and a regular Model 392. On the LE392 I mounted a Nikon Prostaff EFR rimfire scope and for the regular Model 392 (just bought brand new a couple months ago) I mounted a Williams peep sight. Bought are quite accurate. I just don't like the cruddy trigger pull on them but I'm used to them. I never did like the factory sights on them but when I was a kid I was fairly accurate with them. |

Often, pumpers, PCPs and CO2 guns work well with heavy pellets. Examples: JSB 10.34s, Crosman 10.5s that come in the 1250 count cardboard box, Barracuda 10.65 gr, etc.
There is a mod that makes the first two pumps lighter and also there is an aftermarket trigger that should help some. I used the barrel clamp scope mounts and a 4x32 Winchester air rifle scope on mine, it worked very well and solved the sight problem. Academy Sports has this scope for $30 and a 2x7 32mm Winchester for $40. Both are adjustable objective scopes, AO is needed for short range shooting. |
