| My Colt 11.5" AR currently has a Magpul MOE buttstock, MOE+ handgrip, aluminum quad rail, TangoDown rail covers, and a TangoDown foregrip. It feels abnormally heavy for its size. I don't think I'll lose any weight except the handgaurd (want to retain the removable carry handle A2 type site). Would I lose much weight if I went to a Magpul MOE M-lock handgaurd and the corresponding fore grip? |

Since it's a Colt, I'm assuming you have a LW barrel? I wouldn't swap a M16 BCG for a lighter one. You do not need a buffer heavier than a H buffer though. The detachable CH adds significant weight. If you want A2 sights AND a CH, you should swap your flat top for an A2 upper. If you just want A2 sights, you should ditch the handle and mount a detachable stand-alone A2 sight on the flat top. LMT makes a nice fixed one, or there are many folding models. |
