My dealer never received my Form 4 in the mail. Called ATF and they said I had to wait 30 days to request a new one. When I request it, do they send it to me now, and what kind of time frame to wait for the copy?

Just went through this on a form 4 either NFA lost after approval or USPS lost in the mail. I had two form 4s submitted and approved on the same day. The first one was received in the mail seven days after approval. The second one never arrived. They made me wait 30 days after approval to even request the copy. Then to get a copy, I had to fax in a request for a "certified copy." The certified copy showed up in the mailbox 16 days later. They have no way to track the original. They also have no way to track or verify when your duplicate request is received. After pushing quite a bit, they did finally tell me when the "certified copy" mailed back.
As with most things govt, it is really a mickey mouse setup. |
