Got my form 4 approved for my Uzi and was wondering I havent read anywhere that you have to keep your papers with you to shoot but I figure it is written somewhere and figure I will carry my form 4 when I do shoot but does anyone ever question you on your papers? Is it really needed for shooting in your home state? Also can someone give me a good link to NFA do's and dont's. I figure I have to read up on the laws and be up to date on NFA info anyway any help would be helpful man I feel like a child sorry this is just a big step for me in the NFA game LOL! |

I keep color copies in a small wallet.
Each NFA item has it's own wallet attached to it with copies of bill of sale and govy forms. Last time I checked I got several different answers about sources, no conflicts but not much solid. I am interested to see responses to that part of your question. No ranges in Indiana allow full auto I am hard pressed for a place to shoot. |

I keep copies in my range bag.
I treat originals like titles to land and cars and store them safe. I've never been asked to show paperwork by LEO at a range, but for the last few years I've only shot at my private range. And welcome aboard. Tough time to get started with the ammo scarcity. I used to feed my mini-uzi factory Winchester at $.11/round. I could barely reload for that back then. Now, well, I reload for $.15/round. I haven't purchased commercial 9mm in 5 years. |

I use high resolution scans and keep them on my phone or tablet one or both are always with me I already have mine scanned as hi-rez PDFs, but I never thought about keeping copies on my phone for some reason. Good idea... That's what I do. I probably mentioned it on someone else's thread. |

It's like a regular firearm but with even more responsibility. Don't leave it unsecured, always be around if someone wants to use it, keep the paperwork pertaining to it with it in some form, PDF,COPY etc. Don't rapid fire unless it's a range that allows it. Be aware if it's used in a lawful shoot that it's going to get taken in as evidence for awhile. |
