Hi yall,
I am considering entering the SBR world and have a quick question regarding having my CLEO sign off on the form. If I currently do not have the lower receiver that I want to use for an SBR build (have not purchased it yet) can my CLEO still sign off on the form as long as it is filled out with the rest of the information? Also, how long is the signature good for? Do you have to send your form in in a certain amount of time after receiving the sign off on the form? Thanks! |

IIRC the signature is good for 1 year. And the serial # goes on the Form 1 also.
If your dealer/MFG sends you the # prior to your FFL getting it you can still Form 1 the lower. I wouldn't recommend it without function testing the lower first as a pistol to ensure proper function. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

The gun shops here in FL are telling me that the LEO no longer has to sign off on the form. I just dont believe him for some reason. There has been talk that the ATF is doing away with CLEO sign off and instead sending the CLEO notification of the Form 1 or Form 4 transfer, however I haven't seen anything yet that this is policy. |
