Like the title says... help me pick a rail for my 300 BLK. It's being built on a matched set AR15.com upper/lower in the FDE finish only available to preorders. (Picking that up tonight, and very excited! )

I'll have an 8" Grim Reaper barrel on it, and a Liberty Freedom suppressor. OD on the Freedom is 1.5", it's 10" long.

I'd like to have a rail/handguard that the suppressor slides under. I can't decide on length, if I just want a 10" so it slides under a little bit or if I want like a 15" so there's only 3" sticking out past the rail.

I think the 15" would look the best, but I also don't want to defeat the purpose of SBR'ing a lower by putting a giant rail on the front of it.

So, I don't know what I really want. I was thinking about Seekins/Spikes BAR, Rainier Evolution, a couple other ones... what do you guys think would be the best? Bonus point if it comes in FDE and I don't have to Cerakote it

The Midwest Industries FDE 15" rail is a good option for your needs. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=373

Just got my upper/lower set. Here's a pic:

That MI rail looks pretty good, I hadn't seen that one before.

Anyone know if the rifle would be ridiculously front heavy with a 24 oz can and a 15" rail? Already have a UBR stock, which is pretty heavy to balance it out, but I don't know if that's enough.

^^^ don't know that it'll be too heavy for your liking, but that's gonna be one heavy SOB!!

Not knocking your build though...looks good so far!!

My badd, forgot we're in the SBR section...just read over your op again, I was thinking 24oz can on the end of the 15" rail...might not be too front heavy with the UBR as you have planned??

I have a 10.5" 5.56mm with a LaRue 9" and M4-2K that had an UBR on it, was just too heavy overall for my liking. But, it also has a heavy TA-11 ACOG on it, now has a SOPMOD stock on it...a lot lighter, but still on the heavy side?? That's what I was basing my opinion on?

Yeah, it's definitely gonna be heavy, but I think it's gonna look awesOme, and it's really just a range toy so I guess I'm not that worried about it.

Look at the Troy TRXs in FDE too.

I had a digital desert set of Stag receivers and the Troy FDE matched them almost perfectly. It wasn't digital.

I sold them to get a LMT 10.5" complete upper but was planning on using the 11" TRX VTAC and the rest of the gun be black.

You'd probably have a nice setup with the MI also.

If I were building it, and I am going to do one similar to yours, I'd look hard at the 7.2 TRX or 7" Alpha from Troy.

I think I am gonna go with a ~7" rail for now, since both my form 4 for my can and my form 1 for my sbr won't be back for months.
