| What's the consensus on name/city and state marking locations on SIG 552 SBR's? I got one from Midwest and finally got my approved form 1 in the mail. I'd like to mark the barrel since I'd hate to engrave my receiver. |

Quoted: Yup.Quoted: I'd like to mark the barrel since I'd hate to engrave my receiver. You answered your own question then. On my Sig556 pistol-turned-SBR, I had Ident mark my receiver below the ejection port and all the way to the rear. It's incognito and hardly noticeable.

| After rereading the ATF NFA handbook, marking the barrel won't work. The marking must be "wholly unobstructed from plain view" and the lower handguard completely covers the barrel. Thanks Poppy for your suggestion, but mine is marked "RESTRICTED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOVERNMENT USE AND/OR EXPORT" below the ejection port all the way to the rear of the receiver. I guess on that same side under the rear sight is my best option to mark my $4K rifle... |
