I'm looking for a US made part to be in compliance with 922r when registering a pistol into a SBR and cannot find what I'm looking for.
If I buy an imported part that is not drop in but requires cutting or drilling to modify it in order to fit, am I then the manufacturer of that part and is in turn made in the USA and counts? The only thing I could find was this, but it refers to who needs a FFL https://www.atf.gov/file/55466/download |

HOWEVER - if you stamped "USA" on it, can ATF prove it's not? If it should ever come up? If anyone ever checks? If anyone ever cares? |

How serious is 922r compliance? Has anyone actually gotten significant prison time for violating 922r? I can't imagine any police organizations spending millions of dollars on court costs, time, etc. (a search warrant costs a lot to get, because they must show probable cause) just to prosecute a suspected 922r violation? What are the penalties?
It sounds like something that they can impose on importers, dealers, etc. or something tacked onto existing criminals (meaning they're facing far worse charge than 922r violation) |
