This seems to be the most appropriate place for this question.  I'm taking my first crack at shaving a FSB.  As of right now the plan is to use a BCM KMR rail on this rifle.

I've definitely seen pics of FSBs being shaved down way more, but I'm doing this with a dremel and don't really see much value in getting a bench grinder to speed up the process when I may do this one more time and have no use for a bench grinder otherwise.

Try it and see. If you're proposed front end fits over it, it's GTG.

Depends on the hand guard.  Based on my own experience it's still too high, I had to grind it down to pretty much level across the top to get the one I tried to fit.  If you're using something like a MCSR rail you have more room to work with but for most I think you've got a ways to go.

After i did mine and put the tube on, i took it to the range. Started shooting and got a decent group. As the rifle got warm my group shifted but grouping still good just in a different spot. Let it cool and shots went into the first group. Figured out as the rifle heated up the shaved block would touch the FF tube. Had a file with me and started removing some metal. After two tries all was good.

I just did mine to go under a JP rail and same thing. All the way to the deck and rounded off.

This.  If you have a low-pro to compare it to, OP, you'll find that there's still a ton of excess metal on that thing.
