Hi All,

I have a problem with a Magpul PRS I bought yesterday. It does not slide all the way up to the receiver when I installed it. The PRS is about 1” short or the tube is about 1” too long. I bought the stock at a gunshow and have seen the seller at many shows. They asked if I had a .308 or .223 so I think they know what they are doing.

The stock that was on the rifle is a non-adjustable A2. The buffer tube (has not been changed) is 9 9/16” long, with the spacer removed. When I measured the bore depth of the PRS it was 8 7/8” deep. The A2 that was on the rifle measures 10 1/8” deep. The directions say the tube does not need to be changed. I tried the PRS on 2 different rifles and it is the same on both.

Both rifles are DPMS’s one about 10 years old the other about 7 years.

So, do I return the stock or get a different tube? If I get a new tube how do I know it will be the proper length?

Take the sling loop off.  Install the stock.  Re-install the sling loop.

I dunno if this helps,  but I just measured a buffer tube that I removed a PRS from the other day and it measure's 9 1/4 to the edge of the thread, and 9 1/2 or 9/16, to the end.

The PRS fit just fine.  Some new PRS' fit tight, so make sure it's all the way on.

You're not trying to use the spacer with the PRS, are you?

Thanks guys. I removed the sling loop and it slid right on.
