Hi All,
I have a problem with a Magpul PRS I bought yesterday. It does not slide all the way up to the receiver when I installed it. The PRS is about 1” short or the tube is about 1” too long. I bought the stock at a gunshow and have seen the seller at many shows. They asked if I had a .308 or .223 so I think they know what they are doing. The stock that was on the rifle is a non-adjustable A2. The buffer tube (has not been changed) is 9 9/16” long, with the spacer removed. When I measured the bore depth of the PRS it was 8 7/8” deep. The A2 that was on the rifle measures 10 1/8” deep. The directions say the tube does not need to be changed. I tried the PRS on 2 different rifles and it is the same on both. Both rifles are DPMS’s one about 10 years old the other about 7 years. So, do I return the stock or get a different tube? If I get a new tube how do I know it will be the proper length? |
